John Gordon Gardner, “Jack” age 87 of Buffalo, formerly of Delano passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. He was born March 18, 1935, to Chester and Gertrude (Luffey) Gardner in Franklin Township, Minnesota.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He made his career as a machinist. He was united in marriage to Helen Julie Strey on July 25, 1953, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota and to this union 6 children were blessed.

Jack had a love for farming in his younger years. He filled his time as an adult with family obligations and spending time with his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his grandson Kyle McClellan; parents Chester and Gertrude Gardner; siblings Harold Gardner, Kenneth Gardner and Colleen DeMarais; sister-in-law Irene Gardner and brother-in-law Howard “Bud” DeMarais.

He is survived by his loving wife Helen of 69 years; children Cindy (James) Hughes, Terry Gardner (Kathy DiNio), Marijo Kunkel, Jeanne McClellan, William (Dawn) Gardner, Mike (Karen) Gardner; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mary Gardner and JoAnn Strey; son-in-law and friend of the family Fred McClellan.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, St. Peter’s campus, Delano, Minnesota. Visitation took place on Tuesday morning from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota prior to leaving for Mass. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
