Henry (Red) Chesley

Henry LeRoy Chesley, “Red” age 79 of Montrose passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was born June 29, 1942 to Ernest and Lucy (Coyle) Chesley in Bagley, Minnesota.
Red was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Red was united in marriage to Kathleen Topel on April 20, 1968 and began their 53 years together. He made his career in truck driving working for Buffalo Bituminous. Red loved hunting and spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching all the Minnesota teams compete. Another part of Red was his ability to sing. He was an accomplished singer, especially Hank Williams songs.
Red was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Lucy Chesley; brother Donald Chesley; sister Darlene Anderson; parents-in-law William and Dorothy Topel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joyce Chesley, Sue Topel and Ray Hertell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathy, children Dawn Chesley, Patricia Navratil, Dolly Audette; special friend Allen Anderson; 2 grandchildren Jacob Thiner and Benjamin Rabe; siblings Jim Chesley, Lillian (Kenny) Christenson, Roger (Wanda) Schwanke, Tom (Linda) Chesley, Carolyn Miasnikov, Andy Anderson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dianne Hertell, Fred Topel and Linda Topel; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life was on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 1-3 PM at the Watertown Evangelical Free Church in Watertown, Minnesota.
