Florek

Richard Anthony, age 66 of Delano, passed away on September 23, 2025. He was born on December 4, 1958, to Anthony and Florence (Schmidt) Florek in Watertown, Minnesota.

Richard was a 1977 Delano High School graduate, and upon graduating he started his career as a machinist. He went on to spend the next 45 years as a machinist, spending his last 15 years at RMS in Coon Rapids.

He was an avid motorcyclist, with a particular passion for Harley-Davidsons. He enjoyed his travels all around the country, either riding solo or with groups of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings David (Robin) Florek, Dale (Shannon) Florek, and Mary (Joe) Lynch; nieces and nephews Emily Florek, Ben (Britta) Florek, Allison (Corey) Moses, and Amy (Dustin) Kammerer.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in rural Delano, Minnesota. A gathering of family and friends was held from 5-8 PM, with a 4:45 PM rosary service and 8 PM prayer service on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and continued from 10-11 AM Friday prior to the Mass, all at the church. Inurnment in the church cemetery.
