Elizabeth Margaret Nicholas, “Betty”, age 79 of Buffalo, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. She was born February 11, 1937 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lauren and Dorothy (Dunn) Horsch.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She served as a Navy nurse from 1958 to 1961. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law John Gow, great aunt Winnie LeBovsky.

Betty is survived by her children William, Michael, Patrick (Tania), Kathleen (Roy) Nicholas-Reyes; 3 grandchildren Luke, Sophia, Farin; siblings Bill (Geri) Horsch, Kathy Gow, Phil (Betty) Horsch.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 am Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation took place on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation continued on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to Mass in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
