James Bernard Nieman age 56 of Delano passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017. He was born May 13, 1961 to Bernard and Rita (Pearson) Nieman in Watertown, Minnesota.

James graduated from Delano High School in 1980. He went on to work at Advance Machines for 25 years and then went on to being a custodian with the Delano and Orono Schools. James was an accomplished photographer. He enjoyed fixing and making things. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota.

James was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was known for being generous.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry and Irma (Fietsam) Nieman, Ed and Mary (Kunkel) Pearson. He is survived by his parents Bernie and Rita Nieman; sisters Brenda Nieman and Mike Potter, Julie (Steve) Wagner; nephew Chris Wagner.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation took place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Inurnment was in Calvary Cemetery, Delano.
