Robert Jon Wagner, age 55 of Mayer, MN died peacefully at home on Monday, January 22, 2018 after a battle with lung cancer. Robert was born on January 8, 1963 to Charles and Laura (Fiebranz) Wagner in Alexandria, MN. He was baptized at St John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, MN. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1981. He attended Southwestern Vocational School in Granite Falls, MN graduating with a degree in Tool & Die. He worked as a CNC Specialist for Empak and Entegris before starting his own consulting business and working with Custom Mold and Modern Molding.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, waterskiing and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed creating signs on his cnc machine for family and friends along with his woodworking.

Robert married Deborah Modderman on April 28, 1990 in Montevideo, MN. They lived in Victoria before moving to the hobby farm in Mayer where they lived for 25 years.

Robert is survived by wife Deb of 27 years; sons Cody (26) of Duluth and Jesse (25) of Mayer MN; mother Laura (Fiebranz) Wagner of Alexandria MN; brothers Steven of Inver Grove Heights MN and David of Miltona MN; in-laws George and Verla (Hoekstra) Modderman of Montevideo MN, Michael and Pamela Modderman of Montevideo MN, Kathryn and James Kloeckner of Fairmont and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by father Charles Wagner, sister Donna Wagner, niece Megan Wagner and his grandparents.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, MN.   A gathering of family and friends was held on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
