David P. Baxter
April 6, 2018
David P Baxter, 30, Minneapolis (formerly of Montrose), died on April 6th, 2018 from injuries sustained in a car crash in Minnetonka, MN.
Davey (what everyone called him), was born on July 26th, 1987, in Henderson, MN. David worked in all sorts of jobs that required brute strength and stamina-from fracking to concrete.
His love was heavy metal guitar and he was never without an idea for a song or playing a song. He once said, “I see music like people see colors”.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Vonda and Don Zimmerman and his father David Baxter.
He leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Joe and Lynn Zimmerman, maternal grandmother Barbara Bertsch and maternal grandfather Charles P Jacobson.
Davey is also survived by his 7 siblings: Laura Warner (Christopher), Andrea Zimmerman, Garrett Zimmerman (Morgan), Ilana Blumsohn, Isaiah Zimmerman (Annie), Hannah Zimmerman and Lily Zimmerman. He adored his nieces, Sophia, Charlotte, Philomena, Bernadette and the newest addition he never was able to meet, Eloise. His nephew Owen was in his image.
He was also beloved by his many, many aunts, uncles and cousins, along with friends too numerous to count, especially his girlfriend Carina Wynne and her son Jackson whom Davey adored.
Davey’s family asks that you hold them in your thoughts and prayers and that any prayer you have for them includes the beautiful lady that was also injured in this horrible crash. Davey would have been horrified that anything he was involved in, that so hurt another person and their loved ones, as the result of a thoughtless action on his part, or something beyond his control occurred. He truly cherished people and his family and friends are heartbroken.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, Delano. A gathering of family and friends was on Saturday, from 9-11 AM prior to the Mass at the church. Inurnment was in the church cemetery.
