Gloria Carole Beckstrand age 84 of Delano passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016. She was born December 26, 1931 in Delano, Minnesota to Martin and Elizabeth (Plotnik) Libor. Gloria was a feisty strong woman whose family meant the world to her. She graduated from Delano High School and was married to Andrew Beckstrand for 22 years. Over the years she was employed at Tonka Toys, Medtronic/Biomedicus and Innovex. She loved to bake wedding cakes as a hobby. Gloria moved from Delano in 2007 and resided in the Aitkin area until 2012 when she moved back to Delano. She enjoyed fishing, camping and casino trips, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Gloria was preceded in death by her son Andrew; parents Martin and Elizabeth Libor; sisters Betty and Barbara and a brother Martin; as well as a long time friend of over 70 years Monica (Schwitalla) Tuckenhagen. She is survived by her children Amy Obyrn, Rebecca (Terry) Tuckenhagen, Catherine Beckstrand and Chuck Goddard, Deborah (Charlie) Carriger, Robert Beckstrand and Kathy Eli; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends was from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the services. Inurnment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
