Teresa Patricia McGrath, age 83 of Montrose, passed away on January 25, 2016 at her home with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born on October 2, 1932 in Sligo, Ireland to Martin and Anne (Kells) Byrne. Teresa was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Teresa and Jim were longtime farmers in the Woodland Township area; running the McGrath farmstead which has been in existence since 1869. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cats, dogs and cows. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband James; daughter Colleen Byrne; son Martin Novak; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Monica Niknot and Annie Gonzalez; sister-in-law Kathleen (Glenn) Johnson and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation was Friday, from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to Mass ALL at the church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
