Wade Lawrence Barfknecht, age 39 of Minnetrista, passed away on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at the HCMC after a courageous battle with illness. He was born August 25, 1976 to Philip and Gail (Stotko) Barfknecht in Waconia, Minnesota. Wade was a lifelong farmer and also worked in the family excavating business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Wade was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Ernest Sr. and Myrna Barfknecht and Lawrence and Emma Stotko. He is survived by his sister Paula Heck; half sister Annette (Michael) Hocker; nieces and nephews Haley, Brandan and Jesse Heck, Kylie Mueller, Sara Wilson, Erin and Cody Hocker; great nephew Leo Topel; great niece Elena Wilson; uncles Ernest Jr (Liliane) and Robin (Maryann) Barfknecht; many cousins and friends. Funeral Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation was Tuesday from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. prior to the service. A potluck at the Delano American Legion followed the service.
