Milo E. Grams, age 85, passed away on August 16, 2021 at his residence Cokato Manor. He was the second of three children born to Williiam R. and Marie H. (Knop) Grams on March 25, 1936 in Franklin Township, Wright County, Minnesota.

Milo graduated from Delano High School in 1954. He went to St. Cloud College until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served for two years before being Honorably Discharged. Upon returning home, Milo began his lifelong career with the local telephone company, working every phase in the industry. In 1959, he was united in marriage to Beverly Y. Krugerud of rural Dawson, Minnesota. They had four children: Rick, Janell, Robin, and Dawn.

Milo retired from the phone industry after 31 years and bought his dream home on Waverly Lake in Waverly, Minnesota. He loved gardening, fishing, playing cards, dancing, and camping. Milo was an active member of his church, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, in Delano, Minnesota. He served on the council and also on the school board at Mt. Olive Lutheran School.

Milo had a stroke in 1998 which caused his slow decline of life as he lived it. In 2012, Milo bought a townhome in Buffalo and lived there for seven years before moving into assisted living in Delano. Beverly joined him in 2019. Because of Milo’s dementia, he was placed in Cokato Manor. Beverly followed him in 2020. On August 15, 2021, Milo suffered a massive stroke and passed away the next day. Milo was loved by many. May his memory live on through eternity.

Milo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly; children Rick (Sandy) Grams, Janell Yager, Robin (Greg) Close, and Dawn (Josh) Elzler; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Jim Nye; and nephew Greg Nye. He was preceded in death by twin great grandsons Cole and Chase Grams and great grandson John Nicholas Carlson; parents; sisters Audrey (Earl) Strey and Carol Nye.

Funeral Services were held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. Visitation was Monday, from 4-8 PM at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued Tuesday, 10-11 AM prior to the service, at the church. Interment with military honors was in West Mt. Olive Cemetery, rural Montrose, Minnesota.
