Sharon L. Oberaigner

Sharon Lee Oberaigner, age 83 of Delano, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1938 to Bryce and Florence Richie in Dubuque, Iowa.
Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and lived on the family dairy farm. This experience from her youth instilled a love of animals that she possessed her entire life. After World War II, the family made the move to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Sharon graduated from Washburn High School. She went on to Normandale Community College where she obtained a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse at Fairview Southdale Hospital and then went on to a career in counseling until her retirement in 2010.
Sharon loved to garden, cook, sew, and care for her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Dancing and entertaining were key points in her life. She was a collector of antiques and filled her home with these found treasures.
Sharon was preceded in death by the father of her children Jerry Oberaigner and her special friend Jerry Reents. She is survived by her children Susan (Richard) Gallus and Scott Oberaigner (Mollie Rolf); grandchildren Brittany Oberaigner, Morgan (Grant) Sorenson, Kelli (Todd) Kurtz, Chelsea Shedlov, Kami (Seth) Schnell, Connie Oberaigner (fiancé Dylan Dahlheimer), and Hunter Gallus; great grandchildren Lauren Pitan, Loretta Shedlov, and Blair Sorenson; and brother Cork (Sharon) Richie.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. A gathering of family and friends was from 11 AM – 2 PM prior to the service. A reception followed at the Delano American Legion.
