Claude J. Teas age 89 of Delano passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the age of 89 surrounded by family. He was born July 1, 1921 to Claude C. and Anna (Campbell) Teas in Watertown, Minnesota.
Claude was preceded in death by his grandson Thomas; his father Claude C.; mother Anna; sister Lorna; and brother Earle.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Virginia “Ginny”; children Pat and Tim Stelter, June and Tom Berlinger, Mike and Nancy Teas, Dave Teas, Mary and Bob Macko, and Amy Feist; grandchildren Lisa, Christopher, Michael, Austin, Ryan, David, Teresa, Ashley, Ellie, Noah, Jared, Anna and Rachel; great grandchildren Lila, Mallory, Maddie, Isabel Dis, and Maddie; many extended family, friends and a large American Legion family.
Claude was a rural mail carrier for 30 years, an active member of the community and the American Legion, 10th District Commander of the American Legion in 1979. Claude was recently inducted into the Watertown, Minnesota football hall of fame for being the coach of the undefeated team in 1942. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the Golden Living Center in Delano for all the wonderful and loving care they provided over the last few years.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Rev. Christopher Wenthe celebrated the Mass witn interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Military honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post #377.
