Barbara M. Davis
November 5th, 2022
Barbara Marie Davis (Nee Blake), aged 78 of Delano, passed peacefully in her sleep on November 5th, 2022. She was born on October 6th, 1944 to Marvin and Frances (Smith) Anderson.
Barb grew up in Minneapolis, the only girl among three brothers. She attended Marshall High School and graduated in 1962. After high school, she married Myron and moved away from the city and began small town life. In Delano, while raising their two daughters, they loved having horses, goats, chickens, and rabbits. Barb also loved gardening.
In later years, Barb continued her education, receiving a degree in computer programming. Barb was a hard worker and continued her strong work ethic into her later years. She loved to be challenged and kept her mind strong with part time accounting work until she was 76.
Those who knew Barb, knew an extraordinary and resilient woman. Her strong spirit took her on many adventures, including horseback riding, scuba diving, white water rafting, skiing, hunting and any other thing she could manage to pull off.
Barb loved to teach and created a special relationship when she volunteered to teach English to an elderly immigrant. This was a unique opportunity and allowed her to share her gift to teach others.
She loved to travel and would never pass up an opportunity to do so. She was a strong woman with a tender heart who was compassionate and always there for others. Barb loved nature and animals, observing and continuously learning.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Myron; daughter Cathy; and brother Richard Anderson. Barb is survived by her daughter Heather (Robb) Johnson of Brooklyn Park; grandson Keegan; siblings Robert (Wille) Anderson of Anoka, and Steve (Diane) Anderson of Isanti; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
