‘Orville John Euerle age 83 of Buffalo, formerly of Delano passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Delano, Minnesota. He was born August 25, 1927 to Charles and Maria (Schilling) Euerle in Forest City Township, Minnesota.

Orville grew up in the Watkins area, attended country school and helped on the family farm. He was inducted in to the Army Air Force and was stationed in the Azore Islands. In 1947, Orville was honorably discharged as Sergeant. Orville was a member of the Delano American Legion Post #377 and served as its commander and on the honor guard.

On July 8, 1950, Orville was united in marriage to Bernice Groskreutz at St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Forest City, Minnesota. This union was blessed with six children. Orville and Bernice made their home in Delano and joined St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where Orville served as President and on the cemetery board.

Orville was a master of all things mechanical and enjoyed fixing and helping others. He earned his living over the majority of the years working as an auto mechanic.

Orville enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and hobby farming with his family. In the later years, Bernice and Orville took to traveling. They joined the Crow River Sams Campers and enjoyed traveling, caravanning, camping, and meeting new friends.

Orville is survived by his loving wife of 60 + years Bernice; children Brenda (Dan) Gardner of Belle Plaine, Debra (Dennis ) Wehle of New Prague, Dan (Vickie Christensen) Euerle of Motley, Charlie (Becky Hokkanen) Euerle of Delano, Scott (Missy) Euerle of Buffalo; sister Lucille Stone of Hutchinson; as well as grandchildren and spouses: Kim (Ron) Mayerhofer, Tom (Amy) Gardner, Kristin Gardner, McKenzie Euerle, Katie Euerle, Kodie Euerle, Hannah Euerle, Alex Euerle and great grandchildren Hunter Euerle, Elizabeth Gardner, Ethan Mayerhofer.

Orville was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Jo; daughter-in-law Julieanne Euerle; brother Elmer and parents Charles and Maria (Schilling) Euerle.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Delano, Minnesota at 2 p.m. Pastor Richard Flynn officiated at the services. Military Honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post #377. Casket bearers were Orville”s children, Brenda Gardner, Debra Wehle, Dan Euerle, Charlie Euerle and Scott Euerle.
