Joel Michael “Joe” Landkammer, age 74, passed away on June 2, 2024, at his home in Watertown.

Joe enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family, telling jokes, and engaging in lively conversations. Joe was born on October 9, 1949, in Springfield, the son of Wilfred and Emilie (Galloway) Landkammer. He was the sixth of their twelve children. He grew up on various farms around Lamberton and Winthrop, eventually graduating from Winthrop High School. Joe honorably served in the army from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam Era . He was stationed in Korea to help maintain the DMZ during peace time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Emilie Landkammer; brothers Jim, Robert, and Jon Landkammer; and sisters Judy Kadlec and Patty Bigaouette. Joe is survived by his children, Jason (Dawn) and Nikki (Mark); seven grandchildren; siblings: Roberta (Tom) Brunberg of Chanhassen, Jerry (Kris) Landkammer of Tampa, FL, Mary (Dennis) Oscarson of Waconia, Jane (Dennis) Guertin of Waconia, Debra Landkammer of Colorado Springs, CO, Lori Schmidt and partner Rick of Eden Prairie; sister-in-law Judy Landkammer of Chanhassen; brother-in-law, Denny Bigaouette of Mound; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Joe will be missed by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and love for his family will be remembered always.
