Dale A. Wiegert, “Gramps” age 76 of Clitherall, formerly of Howard Lake, MN. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. He was born September 3, 1934 to William and Loretta (Anderson) Wiegert in Pipestone, Minnesota.
Gramps was a devoted father and grandfather and friend to many. He was known as a shrewd scrabble player, as well as an avid cribbage player. He was an accomplished storyteller who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Gramps was also known for his crazy awesome inventive cooking techniques.
Dale was preceded in death by his daughters Deb Niesen and Donna Wiegert; grandson Shane Niesen; parents William and Loretta “Florence” Wiegert, brothers Dwight and James Wiegert. He is survived by his children Darrell (Barb) Wiegert, Duane (Cheryl) Wiegert, Dawn (Steve) Anderson, Darla (Chuck) Drusch, Deedee (Steve) Demarais, Denise Wiegert and Shaun K, Dana (Kim) Wiegert; 25 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Arletta Backus, Bruce (Sandy) Wiegert, Janice Anderson, Wade Wiegert.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Delano United Methodist Church, 3310 County Line Rd. Delano. Rev. Jeff Olson officiated at the services with inurnment in the Delano Public Cemetery.
Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much whatever the part.
