Dr David R Philp MD

Age 87 of Watertown, MN. Peacefully passed away 9/5/12. Born in Mankato, MN, 2/5/25; preceded in death by his parents Dr. David and Florence Philp. Survived by Charlotte the love of his life for 62 years, and children, Nancy Simpson of Minneapolis, Dave (Peggy) Philp of Waconia, and Alison (Scott) Burgstahler of Sandpoint, ID. Grandchildren Nicole and James Simpson, David (Mary) Philp, Daniel (Katrina) Philp, Anna Philp, Molly and Matthew Burgstahler.
He played in the state basketball tournament and graduated from Mankato High School in 1943. He graduated pre-med from Marquette University and earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville Medical School. He was a U.S. Naval Physician in the Korean War. Dr.Philp worked as a family physician for 42 years in Watertown, Mn. He was an exceptional Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Doctor… who loved to fish. He was honored to serve the community he loved. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Ridgeview Foundation (Ridgeview Medical Center Waconia).
