Robert LeRoy Hafften Sr.”Pops” age 76 of rural Delano, formerly of Rockford passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 27, 1936 to Earl and Ruby (Kettenacker) Hafften in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ann Twardy on August 20, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. He was employed by the Delano Granite Works for 12 years and GNL Contracting for over 25 years retiring as a union 49ner. He loved running all kinds of equipment, from dozers to tractors; collecting and showing his prized Allis Chalmers and Olivers. He was a member of the Northland Auto Club. He and Mary Ann loved spending time in Texas, making and meeting new friends. He loved to socialize.

Robert was preceded in death by his son Daniel Lee Hafften; mother Ruby Kettenacker and father and step-mother Earl (Evelyn) Hafften; as well as a sister Betty Stem.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann; sons Michael (Leanna) Hafften, Robert Jr. (Teresa) Hafften; granddaughter Sara; and a brother Richard (Elaine) Hafften.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Interment was at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
