Ernest Albert Grossman, “Ernie” age 94 of Baxter passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Legacy of Delano. He was born August 20, 1919 in Staples Township, Minnesota to Albert and Helina (Rupprecht) Grossman.

Ernie was a farmer who went on to work for and retire from the Railroad. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Edwards on November 20, 1941 in Staples, Minnesota. He loved to fish, keep his lawn perfectly manicured, and spend time with his family. He was also known to light up the room wherever he went with his witty sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Doug Harris; daughter-in-law Carol Grossman and a granddaughter Aubrey Harris.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 72 years, Rose; children Eugene and friend Mary Ann, Judy Harris, Deb Smith-Utes and Jeff; as well as many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church at 8012 Hennepin County Road 6 in Lyndale, Minnesota. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain, Minnesota.
