Evangeline M. “Vangie” Laumann, age 97 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Estates of Delano. She was born on February 12, 1922 in Luxemburg, Minnesota to Michael and Mary (Karels) Ertl. The family moved to Mayer in 1934. She married Laurence Laumann on May 20, 1941.
Vangie loved to crochet and give her works away. Her desire in life was to have everyone she touched have a thread of her life through her crocheting projects. She spent winters in Texas later in life. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.
Vangie was preceded in death by her husband Laurence; parents; granddaughters Jessica Laumann and Katie Laumann; brother Romuald Ertl; sons-in-law Keith Braun, Lloyd Pratt, Pete Clark and Robert Habisch; and special friend Merle Cernohlavek. She is survived by her children Loel (Connie) Laumann, Germaine Clark, Lynette (John) Maher, Gerald A. (Debra) Laumann, Geraldine (Erwin) Reihl, Rita (Jon) Hamann, Judy (Henry) Becker, Robert (Tracy) Laumann and Bonita (Kevin) Brabec; sister Elvera Hoops; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life took place on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 1:30 – 5 PM at the Hollywood Sports Complex in Hollywood Township. Private family Inurnment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Watertown. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
