Barbre of Delano, MN. Passed away unexpectedly on Sat. Feb. 16, 2008 while vacationing in Florida. He was born in Peoria, Illinois on Nov. 10, 1937 and had lived in Delano since 1963. Jim was the owner and operator of Delano Dodge Chrysler Jeep for almost 40 years retiring from that vocation in 2005. He was a charter member of the Delano Lions Club and over the years worked tirelessly in any club activity he believed would benefit Delano, a town he loved. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joy Webster Barbre; daughter Janet (Ron) Bergins; son Jeff (Cathy) Barbre; grandchildren Nicole (Gary) Halman, Nathan Matter, Daniel (Katie) Barbre, Ashley Madison; great grandchildren Chloe and Skyler Halman, Lily Rose and Isaac Barbre. Visitation Saturday, Feb. 23, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. A short memorial service will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Diabetes Assoc. or Lions International Diabetes Research.
