Abigail "Abbie" McDonald

Abigail Ann McDonald, “Abbie” age 77 of Watertown passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born January 14, 1945, to Roy and Bessie (Green) Siefert in Graceville, Minnesota.
Abbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was united in marriage to Philip John McDonald, “Flip” on June 20, 1964, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Collis, Minnesota. She was a longtime nurse and administrator for Elim Nursing Home in Watertown, Minnesota. Abbie was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, volunteering where needed, singing in the choir and coordinating funeral luncheons. Abbie had the ability to get things done by her actions and her ability to organize others to accomplish common goals. She had a love of gardening, cooking and baking. Also planning and going on trips to Ireland, 11 in total.
Abbie was preceded in death by her husband Flip; sons Brian and Pat; grandson Patrick; siblings Bob Siefert and Tom Siefert. She is survived by her children Bill (Lis), Theresa (Bill) Sullivan, Tim, Colleen (Aaron) Score; grandchildren Brian, Jamie, Nikki, Sean, Colin, Liam, Vincent, Ewan; siblings Helen Tritz, Mary McBrady; daughter-in-law Terri McKinzie.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota. Visitation took place on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continued Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., all in the church. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Watertown, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Watertown Friends for Life Food Shelf.
