Aleathea May Marquardt, “Petie” age 86 of Rockford, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. She was born November 11, 1936, to Homer and Lily (Walters) Richards in Rogers City, Michigan.
Petie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was united in marriage to Orval Marquardt on July 2, 1955, in Michigan. Petie loved her children and grandchildren; fishing and playing bingo. She enjoyed crocheting and in the later years, she loved to color pictures to share with family and friends.

Petie was preceded in death by her husband Orval; granddaughter Karen Howay; her parents Homer and Lily Richards; siblings Royal Richards, Ernest Richards, Alvina Hodgins, Gloria Dubey, Carla Wirgau; and a son-in-law Ken Howay.

She is survived by her children Daniel (Debra) Marquardt, Orval Marquardt, Tamera Howay, Barbara (Thomas) Beamish, Brenda (Dave) Olson, Beverly Scheunemann; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; sister Hazel Bonnard.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends was held in the church from 4 to 5 p.m. prior to the services. An additional service will be held in Hillman, Michigan with inurnment at a later date.
