Amy Susan Ward, age 78 of Maple Plain, passed away on January 7, 2024. Amy was born on January 5, 1946 in Minneapolis to Harold and Dorothy Ruff and grew up primarily in Orono/Long Lake. She later settled in Maple Plain to raise her family.

After graduating from Orono High School, Amy attended beauty school and completed her CNA certificate. She worked as a waitress, a caregiver at a nursing home, a beautician, and a house cleaner.

She loved, trees, flowers, cooking, coloring, drawing, and crafts. She loved birds, especially Cardinals and Loons. She was a wonderful and caring woman who would do anything to help others. She provided a place for her children’s friends to stay/live.

Preceded in death by her Mom Dorothy, Dad Harold, brother John, her son Tim, and her best friend Patti.

Survived by her children Dan (Monica), Jen (Travis), Angie, Stacy (Jason), Brianna (Garrett), and Brittany (Nick), 16 grandchildren: Nathan, Emily, Alex, Ben, Grace, Taila, Reiss, Bhodi, Raina, Grady, Miller, Baya, Lito, Tristan, Wyatt, and Waylon, 4 great grandchildren: Jackson, Owen, Ronan, and Keelan, the father of her children Bobby, her sister in law and best friend Sharon, and her daughter in law Toni.

To honor Amy’s memory, we are holding a celebration of life on January 18th, 2024, visitation will be from 5-8pm and the prayer service will begin at 7pm at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am on Friday January 19th, 2024 at Lakewood Cemetery. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
