Bernadette Rose Yantes, “Bernie” age 91 of Delano, Minnesota died on Tuesday March 6, 2012 at the Elim Home in Watertown, Minnesota. She was born August 29, 1920 to John and Kathryn (Motzko) Russek in Delano, Minnesota.

“Bernie”, a lifelong resident of Delano was one of 4 siblings and wife of Lloyd Yantes. Besides working the family farm for many years, Bernie enjoyed a number of years working at the Wayzata Country Club and was known as the “donut lady” at the bakery in Watertown. Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, word find books, flowers, the many birds she attracted to her yard and attending mass at St. Joseph’s church. But her true joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandson.

Bernie was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her son Lloyd Jr., granddaughter Sherry, Grandson Matthew, Brother Clarence Russek and Sisters Irene Dederich and Marie Russek.

She is survived by her children James (Jeanne) Yantes of Mora, Minnesota, Peter (Eileen) Yantes of Jacksonville, Florida, Sharon (Jerry) Fritz of Delano, Minnesota and John Yantes of Delano, Minnesota, 16 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great, Great Grandchild and her brother Jack (Renata) Russek of Delano, Minnesota.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Rev. Paul Kammen celebrated the Mass with interment in the church cemetery.
