Brenda J. Scherer, age 76 of Loretto, passed away on December 28, 2017. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on December 14, 1941 to Sherman and Mabel (Smith) Mills.

Brenda was united in marriage to David R. Scherer on June 13, 1964 in Alexandria, Virginia. She was a long-time Wrico Stamping Co. employee. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, crafting and dark chocolate. She was also a collector of crystal figurines “pretties”.

Brenda was preceded in death by parents Sherman and Mabel Mills; brother John; parents-in-law Walter and Lillian Scherer. She is survived by her husband of 53 years David; daughters Christine Scherer and Melissa (William) Winterhalter; 2 grandchildren James and Haley; sister Bonnie (Fred) Fitzgerald; and many family and friends.

Memorial Services were held at 6 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 with a gathering of family and friends from 4-6 PM prior to the service at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano. Inurnment at later date will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery Minneapolis.
