Carol Jean Traen, age 74 of Delano passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday. She was born on December 15, 1940 to John and Marie (Scott) Ruppelius in Greenfield, Minnesota.

Carol was an employee of the State Bank of Delano for 44 years. She played in the same bridge group since 1961 and loved bowling. She was an active church member and sang in the choir. Carol was the heart and soul of her family. She loved going out to the Luce Line Orchard with her family. She also never missed the grandkids’ sporting events.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Richard Joseph Traen and 2 infants Timothy and Tara. Siblings Kathy (Dan) Lynch and Jim Ruppelius

Survived by children Terri (Rich) Pawelk, Tom (LaRae) Traen, Todd Traen and fiancé Shelly Redepenning, Tracey (Tom) Sangren; grandchildren Reed (Katie) Pawelk, Abigail Pawelk and fiancé Ryan Jirik, Paige (Matt) Lynch, Tommy Traen, Todd Traen, Camryn Traen; great grandchildren Walter Lynch, Owen and Emmett Pawelk; siblings Jerry (Betty) Ruppelius, Mary (Darwin) Koecher, Sue (Steve) Stahlke.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
