Charles Dewey "Charlie" Emery

Charles “Charlie” Emery, age 86 of Loretto, Minnesota passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the JA Wedum Hospice Residence in Brooklyn Park. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Wetonka, South Dakota to George Dewey and Vivian (Iverson) Emery.

Charlie was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Charlie spent many weekends camping and fishing when his children were young. He also enjoyed deer hunting for many years. He was a member of a bowling league for over 50 years and later in life, Charlie took up golfing and enjoyed time on the golf course with his daughter Trish and friends. Charlie served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged. He was a member of the Loretto Lions and Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James, Dale and John; sister Betty and brother-in-law Gene Arial; also brother-in-law Jim Robbins. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian (Thibodeau); children Vickie Berry, Rick (Leann Scotting), Patricia (Dan) Bock, Ron; 3 grandchildren Christine (Sam) Piekarski, Jacob (Melissa) Berry and John Berry; 1 great granddaughter Eleanor Berry; sister Margaret Robbins; sisters-in-law Lorraine Emery and Barb Emery.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. A Gathering of family and friends was Saturday, from 9-11 AM prior to the Mass, at the church. Inurnment at a later date.
