Charles R. “Chuck” Bergin, age 88 of Montrose, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Estates of Delano. He was born July 29, 1930 to John and Isabelle (Anderson) Bergin in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

Charles served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He married Joan Miller on February 12, 1955. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sprint car racing and gambling.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Joan; daughter Susan Rath; grandsons Jeremy Bergin and Travis Troska; and siblings Jerry Bergin, Jack Bergin, Gary Bergin, Sr. and Audry Marth. He is survived by his children Debra Korthals and special friend Dennis Johnson, Keith Bergin, Kathy (Dan) Veaderko, Melissa Bergin and special friend Dave Cabianca; grandchildren Carry Bergin, Sabrina Highfield, Keith Bergin Jr., Jessica Sanders, Christina Bentfield, Heather (Tony) Fuller, Crystal Veaderko, Justin (Meghan) Bergin, Azure Tyler; many great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn Bergin, Gordon Marth, Sr. and Pat Lauseng; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends took place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the services. A reception followed at the Montrose Community Center, 200 Center Ave. S., Montrose, MN. Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Grantsburg, Wisconsin at a later date.
