Daniel James DuRand of Watertown, Minnesota, passed away October 17th, 2023, at the age of 54 after a long-fought battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Dan was a loving husband, proud father, and a steadfast friend. Together with his wife, Michele, they built a beautiful life that was centered around their four sons. He was so proud to become a grandfather within the last few months.

Dan’s passion was spending quality time with the people he loved. He enjoyed making memories up at the family cabin and savored his many trips with his motorcycle peeps on his Victory.

He will be missed every day, but his spirit and legacy lives on through the people he loved.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, E. Scott DuRand; mother, Agnes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Eileen Thurman.

Dan is survived by his loving family: his wife, Michele of 31 years; sons: Chase (Alexis), Hunter (Lindsey), Cole (Ify Marie), Ben (Sydny); grandchildren, Drake and Charlotte; five siblings, Vonnie (Jim) Hoschette, David (Sheila), Gwen (Tim) Evangelist, Donna (Russ) Lilienthal, and Scott (Michelle), Erika (Brent) Cameron and Rory Thurman; Uncle Leo (Jeri Lynn) DuRand Auntie Orpha Rustebakke; numerous nieces and nephews, and too many friends to name.

A gathering to celebrate Dan’s life was held on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at 2:00 pm with service starting at 3:00 pm at Iten’s Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. Everyone was invited to gather afterward to share stories and refreshments with the DuRand family at the Harwood Residence.
