Darryl Joseph Dalbec age 77 of Montrose, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born September 21, 1945, to Lloyd and Carola (Matter) Dalbec in Woodland Township, Minnesota.
Darryl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He grew up in Montrose and met and married the love of his life, Janet J. Hentges on February 27, 1965, at St. Thomas Church in Corcoran, Minnesota.
Darryl loved to spend time with his family. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening were hobbies throughout his life. He was known for his sense of humor and gift to make others laugh.
Darryl was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Carola Dalbec. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Janet; children Debbie (Mike) Neaton, Rick Dalbec, Michelle (Tom) Christensen, Mark Dalbec; 7 grandchildren and one great grandson; siblings Harlan (Sandra) Dalbec, Diane (George) Schlechter, JoAnn (Duane) Kassulker.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends took place in the St. Mary’s parish center from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Mass. Private family Inurnment was in the church cemetery.
