David Alan Swing, “Dave” age 65 of Watertown passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.  He was born June 4, 1959, to Earl and Ruby (Martinson) Swing in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dave was a loving caring husband to Jill and a wonderful father to his sons Nathan and Michael.  He grew up in Southwest Minneapolis and attended Southwest High School.  He became a heavy equipment operator and went to work for Barber Construction before eventually joining the operator’s union and becoming a 49er.

Dave loved to golf, travel to Florida in the winter, time spent fishing but mostly to spend time with family and coworkers.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ruby Swing; father-in-law James Barber; brother-in-law Jeff Barber.  He is survived by his wife Jill of 42 years; sons Nathan (Valerie) Swing, Michael Swing; siblings Brian Swing, Randy (Peggy) Swing, Kathleen Swing (Ed); mother-in-law Evelyn Barber; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jackie (Larry) Cramb, Jerry (Barb) Barber; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Delano Senior Center in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends will take place for two hours prior to the services from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
