David M. Checkal age 59 of Delano died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Serra Vista, Arizona. He was born October 5, 1950 to Ernest and Cecelia (Wanderscheid) Checkal in Litchfield, Minnesota.

David served in the Army being honorably discharged in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Checkal. David is survived by his mother Cecelia; sisters and spouses Mary and Roger Hendricks, and Janice and David Williams; brothers and spouses John and Paulette Checkal, Joseph Checkal, Steven and Lori Checkal, and Charlie and Betty Checkal; 14 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church prior to Mass on Saturday. Rev. Christopher Wenthe will officiate at the Mass with inurnment in the Calvary cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
