DuWayne Maurice Czock, “Dewey”, age 80 of Cape Canaveral, FL passed away peacefully at the Edward M. Poe Hospice Care Center in Titusville, FL on Thursday, September 2, 2021.  He was born on July 16, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Ed and Sadie (Mackie) Czock.

Dewey grew up in Excelsior, MN.  He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.  After discharge from the military, Dewey began his career as a carpenter and cabinet maker.  During his career he worked as a civilian contractor building barracks at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba, then found himself working in California, Wyoming, and Minnesota before eventually settling in Cape Canaveral, FL.

Dewey was an active American Legion member and served multiple terms as Post Commander at the American Legion Post 348 in Cape Canaveral.  He was also an avid pool player participating in multiple pool leagues around the Cape Canaveral area.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Sadie Czock and brother Mike Czock. He is survived by his sister-in-law Pat Czock; niece and nephews; Lori (Larry) Elsen, Jeff (Cathy) Czock, Brian (Christine) Czock, Brad Czock and Curt Czock; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

A gathering of family and friends was from 4-6 pm on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 at Iten Funeral Home in Delano, MN.  A brief prayer service was held at 6pm. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Fort Snelling, meeting at Assembly Area #2.
