Dwayne Jorgenson, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on November 27th at the age 80. He and his wife Barbara recently moved to Watertown, MN from Stevens Point, WI.

Dwayne was born October 3, 1934 in Erskine, MN to Earle and Genevieve Jorgenson. He attended school in Bemidji, MN and graduated high school in Grand Forks, ND. He attended Dickinson State College in Dickinson, ND for 2 years before joining the military. He served in Fairbanks, AK where he met and married Barbara Lyons in 1956. Dwayne continued college after the service and received his PhD from the U. of MN. He taught music for 37 years from 1st grade through graduate school. He had been choral conductor at Northeastern College in IL; Moorhead State U.; U. of MN; and U. of St. Thomas. Dwayne was devoted to his students and loved his work.

Dwayne built a log home on Antler Lake in Milltown, WI in 1971 which the family enjoyed for 13 years. He loved the outdoors and has been an avid fisherman and hunter.

He and his wife also owned a hardware store in River Falls, WI for 4 years.

He was preceded in death by parents and son Eric.

Dwayne is survived by his wife; daughter Andrea and son-in-law Jacob and grandsons Owen and Ivor of Watertown; sister Erlene Hagburg of Borger, TX; nieces and nephews in Texas and New Jersey and niece, Debra in Val Rico, FL.

Dwayne’s ashes will be scattered over his favorite woods.
