Eleanor Adickes

Eleanor G. Adickes age 87 of Montrose passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota. She was born May 9, 1924 to Joseph and Blanche (Fautsch) Gallus in Franklin Township, Minnesota.
Eleanor was a lifelong farmer working side by side with her husband Dayton. She and Dayton were united in marriage on May 1, 1943 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. This union was blessed with 5 children. Eleanor was an avid gardener, she enjoyed growing both flowers and foods for the table. She was an accomplished cook, baking and preparing meals for her family and friends. Embroidery was another past time that created gifts to be shared. Eleanor enjoyed watching the birds, always concerned that they had enough feed.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Dayton; parents Joseph and Blanche Gallus; and a brother Donnie Gallus.
She is survived by her children Bonnie (Gary) Foede, Pat (Randy) Roehl, Joan (Richard) German, Dennis (Nancy) Adickes, Mary (Christopher) Smith; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings LaVern Johnson, Marge Jerde, Ralph Gallus, Betty (Marvin) Rogers; sister-in-law Dolores Adickes.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota. Rev. Frank Wampach celebrated the Mass with inurnment in the church cemetery.
