In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Doherty

Elizabeth Doherty, a beacon of strength and compassion, peacefully passed away on September 3rd, 2023. She was born on July 18th, 1966, in Brighton, Massachusetts, and her life was a testament to courage, love, and unwavering positivity.

From a young age, Elizabeth faced the challenges of severe Rheumatoid Arthritis with remarkable courage and resilience. Her sunny disposition and indomitable spirit endeared her to everyone she met. In her journey through life, she discovered true love with Philip, and their union led them to Minnesota, where they planted the seeds of their future and embraced the warmth of family.

Professionally, Elizabeth found her calling at Honeywell, where she excelled as the Team-Lead Work Specialist in the Avionics and Defense division. Her remarkable ability to empathize, guide, and mentor others quickly became her defining trait. With a brilliant sense of humor, quick-witted banter, and sage advice, she captivated the hearts of colleagues and friends alike.
Elizabeth’s love knew no bounds. She was not only a devoted wife and a loving mother but also an irreplaceable daughter. Her compassion extended to creatures of all kinds, as she opened her heart and home to countless pets and stray animals.

A cherished best friend and confidant, Elizabeth’s optimism was infectious. Her generous and loving personality, combined with her remarkable culinary skills, made her a legendary cook and grill master. She also had a fierce competitive spirit at the card table.In her leisure moments, Elizabeth found joy in her garden, adventure in her books and fed her soul with music and friendship.

Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration. She is survived by her beloved husband, Philip Doherty, her devoted son, Ryan Doherty, her loving father, Leopold Rhemrev, and her dear mother, Anne Carlson.
Her memory will forever shine as a guiding light, reminding us to embrace life’s challenges with grace, to love unconditionally, and to cherish every precious moment. Elizabeth Doherty will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her love continue to inspire us all.

A memorial service was held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. A gathering was held from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
