Elizabeth Margaret Elsen, “Betsy” age 40 of Delano passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born March 20, 1985, to Lawrence “Larry” and Lori (Czock) Elsen in Waconia, Minnesota.

Betsy grew up in Delano and graduated from Delano High School. She went on to further studies at Northwestern College, as well as the University of St Thomas, toward her Master’s Degree in Social work. Betsy loved to spend time with her nieces, nephews, her family and many friends. She was known for her deep and constant faith, her many talents such as playing the piano, writing, and her gentle and genuine care for others.

Betsy was preceded in death by her grandfathers John Elsen and Mike Czock. She is survived by her parents Larry and Lori Elsen; sisters Sara Fladager (Phil), Anna Elsen, Grace Qualls (Jacob) and brother Ben Elsen (Mercedes) ; nieces Emma, Ellie, nephews Teddy, Dallas, Andy and Henry ; grandmothers Eileen Elsen and Pat Czock and grandparents Maxine and Lowell Johnson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and her special friend Andrew Tessmer.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, St. Peter’s campus in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in St. Martha’s Hall of St. Peter campus. A prayer service will occur at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass. Private family Interment will be in the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Loretto, Minnesota.
