Florence M. Heinzen (Japs) age 97, lifelong resident of Maple Plain passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011. She was born August 26, 1914 to Louis and Martha (Krueger) Japs in Delano, Minnesota.
Florence loved her family; spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was the focus of her life. She was an accomplished cook and baker, known for her Apple Kuchen and beautiful garden.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; 4 brothers Louis Japs, Fred Japs, George Japs, Albert Japs; 4 sisters Lydia Bryant, Addie Farnick, Lillian Heinzen and LaVern Wandersee. She is survived by her children Howard Heinzen, Russell (Ruth) Heinzen, Dennis (Lois) Heinzen, and Darlene (George) DeLuca; grandsons Thomas (Julia) Heinzen, Jesse (Sara) Heinzen, Mark DeLuca, Christopher DeLuca; great grandchildren Ryan Heinzen, Cora Heinzen, Emma Heinzen; sister-in-law Lorraine Japs; brothers-in-law Raymond (Harriet) Heinzen, Richard Heinzen; as well as many loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Maple Plain. Pastor Meg Newswanger officiated at the services with interment in the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain, Minnesota.
