Forrest (Larry) Kantrovich, 81, of Wayzata, MN, formerly of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away Thursday June 20, 2019 surrounded by family at Haven Homes in Maple Plain, MN.
He was born August 6, 1937 to Alex and Ada Kantrovich at the family home in Sioux City, IA.
He was joined in marriage to Diane Petty November 1, 1981 in Palatine, IL. They lived in Bartlett, IL, Elgin, IL and then moved to Poplar Grove, IL where they lived for 20 years before moving to Meridian Manor in Wayzata, MN.
Larry graduated from Central High School and then Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. He went on to a career in accounting in the Chicago suburbs. He later changed to a career in social work in Elgin, IL. After retiring, he moved to Poplar Grove where he was an active member in his church. He enjoyed his many pets, stamp collecting, and other hobbies. He owned a hobby shop and an online stamp collecting business over the years.
Larry is survived by his wife Diane, his children: Lyle (Kari Jo) Kantrovich, Delano, MN; Jill (Asa) Pearson, Bedford, TX; Cheryl (Charles) Teague, Meadows Place, TX; Hollie (Danny) Byrd, North Richland Hills, TX; Matthew (Kristian) Kantrovich, Poplar Grove, IL; his siblings, Jerry, Harry and Sheila, and Rochelle Parkman (former wife). He has 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Marnie (Vern) Eichele, Euless, TX, and parents Alex and Ada Kantrovich.
A memorial service was held Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Meridian Manor, Wayzata, MN. A second service will be held at New Beginnings Fellowship in Belvidere, IL on July 7th, 2019. Time of service is pending.
