Francis Anthony Bauman age 86 of Delano died unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2012. He was born February 12, 1926 to George and Theresa (Muckenhirn) Bauman in Delano, Minnesota.

Fran was united in marriage on August 25, 1951 to Ruth Sutton at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. He loved to socialize and always looked forward to coffee with “The Boys” He was a past volunteer at the Delano Senior Center, Red Cross and the Delano Catholic Community. He and Ruth were foster parents to over 30 children over the years. He is a retired member of the Delano American Legion Post #377. Upon retirement he and Ruth became snowbirds and have enjoyed many winters in the south.

Fran was preceded in death by his parents George and Theresa Bauman; brothers Bill Bauman, Ralph Bauman; sister Mary Boisvert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Art Boisvert, Jim Lundsten, Lowell Berchtold, Dick Merriman, Dorothy Bauman and Betty Powers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; children Nancy (Lance) Wetter, Dick (Neta) Bauman, Joan (Alan) Zeltner, Patricia (Doug) Bruhn, Jim (Colleen) Bauman, Jeff (Katie) Bauman; 12 grandchildren Erik (Robyn) Wetter, Kyle (Brenda) Bauman, Ryan (Molly) Wetter, Chad (Ashley) Bauman, Allison (Anthony) Hesano, Kelli (Mike) Wendland, Jacqueline Bruhn and fiancé Benjamin Gottlieb, Maxx Bauman, Madison Bauman, Matthew Zeltner, Cole Bauman, Abagail Bauman; 7 great grandchildren Charlie Bauman, Olivia Hesano, Joey Bauman, Gordon Wetter, Drew Bauman, Avery Hesano, Louis Wendland and one on the way; sisters and brother-in-law Ann Lundsten, Georgia Berchtold, Barb Merriman, Lucille (Jim) Ronan, Edie Moran, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Leona Clark.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Interment with military honors was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
