Frank Edward Schmidt, 91, of Montrose, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born March 15, 1923 on the family farm in Woodland Township, Wright County to Arnold and Victoria (Lyrek) Schmidt.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Kittock); parents; brother John Schmidt; sisters and brothers-in-law Florence and Tony Florek, Kate and Pete O”Donnell, Lorraine and Russell Prather; and grandson Jeremy Pettit.

Frank is survived by his loving children Barbara (Bruce) Guggemos, Douglas (Shirlene) Schmidt, Dan (Esther) Schmidt, Robin Dirkswager, and Lynn Schmidt; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Marie (Jay) Rasset; sister-in-law Catherine Schmidt; special friend Deacon Walter Kieffer OSB; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was 10:00 a.m Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly, MN. Gathering of family and friends wasThursday from 5-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service in the church Parish Center. Gathering continued 9-9:45 a.m. on Friday prior to the Mass at church.
