Gary Arthur Barfknecht, age 68, was called home to the Lord on February 27, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on September 10, 1944 to Arthur and Lillian (Wandersee) Barfknecht in Watertown, MN.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, MN and actively attended Mt. Olive Lutheran in Delano, MN. He married Karol (Feldsien) on April 27, 1963. To this union three children and seven grandchildren were born: Alan and Sarah Barfknecht (Austin and Anna), Glen and Anne Barfknecht (Grace and Jason), Lynn and Bob Parrack (Samuel, Nathan, Weston).

Gary was an avid outdoorsman, and found his joy in the country and the lake. He enjoyed softball, basketball, fishing, hunting and in recent years spent many hours planting trees on the 20 acre legacy family farm he had lived on his entire life. He and Karol were able to enjoy vacations in Yellowstone and National Parks. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano, Minnesota.

Interment was in the West Mt. Olive Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
