Gary Lebovsky

Gary Richard Lebovsky, age 71 of Delano passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2025. Gary was born November 27, 1953 to Richard and Madeline (Alger) Lebovsky in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Gary lived his entire life in Delano, graduating from Delano High School where he was the captain of the basketball team and class president.  He studied engineering at the University of Minnesota before helping his mother run the family store, Lebovsky Dry Goods.  He later worked as a carpenter and building inspector known by all for his attention to detail. As a young dad, he spent his time as a youth basketball and baseball coach for his kids, and always volunteered at various events with the Sons of the American Legion (SAL). In 1979 he met Judy Seglem, an attractive blonde from the North Shore. They were married the following summer and spent forty-four happy years together.  Gary enjoyed fishing and golfing, he was a great cook, known for his grilling, peanut brittle and fudge, and was a proud father and papa.  He was always there with his sense of humor and skilled hands to help his friends and family and could always be counted on.

Gary is survived by his loving family: wife Judy (Seglem) Lebovsky; sons Davin (Brooke) Lebovsky, Andy (Sisi) Lebovsky; daughter Allison (John) Moyer; grandchildren Amelia, Corina, Maxwell, Margot, Henrik, Graham and Hayden; sister Deanne Donovan (Worm).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota.  Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano from 4 to 8 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to Mass.  Interment will be in the Delano Public Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
