Gerald L. Yantes, age 79, of Princeton formally of Delano, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 17, 1936 in Big Lake, Minnesota to Arthur and Henrietta “Hank” (Motzko). Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved nature and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Daryl. He is survived by his wife Lois; son Patrick (Mary) Yantes; daughters Julie Yantes, Nicole (Dean) Guennigsmann, Jamie (Jesse) Kral and Danielle Yantes; grandchildren Sammi Yantes, Preston & Landon Kral, and Easton & Deklan Guennigsmann; brothers DeWayne (Helen), Dale (Pam) and Bryan (friend Linda). Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. A Gathering of family and friends was Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. The Gathering continued on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in Martha’s Hall prior to the Mass. He will be missed and remembered by many.
