Gladys Halderson

Gladys Lillian (Oare) Halderson was born January 30, 1924 in Cady Township, Wilson Wisconsin. She worked with her Dad hanging wall paper until going to work at Red and White grocery store in Spring Valley, Wisconsin. After graduation, she worked at Swift Meat Plant in St. Paul, Minnesota, packing meat for service men in World War II. After moving to Minnesota, she worked twenty five years at General Mills, retired and worked part time at Ebenezer Nursing Home for four years.
Gladys married Harlan Halderson on May 3, 1945 at Wilson Lutheran Church in Wilson, Wisconsin. They farmed and had five children before moving to Long Lake, Minnesota in 1961. In 1983 they moved to Montrose, Minnesota. Harlan passed away in 1996. Gladys resided in her home in Montrose until she went to live with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Harlan; parents and ten siblings. She is survived by her children Nancy (Terry) Swenson of Emily, Minnesota; Gary (Janet) Halderson of Montrose, Minnesota; Jimmy (Bonnie) Halderson of Buffalo, Minnesota; Julie (Mike) McClellan of Emily, Minnesota; and David (Sheryl) Halderson of Howard Lake, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild to arrive in July as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Montrose Methodist Church, 230 Center Ave. S. Montrose, MN. 55363. Visitation took place on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation continued on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment was in Kreidler Cemetery in Montrose, Minnesota.
