Gladys M. Socher (Gallus)

Gladys M. Socher, age 93 of Watertown, passed away on March 10, 2018. She was born on November 8, 1924 in Delano to Anthony and Nellie (Fautsch) Gallus. Gladys married Alexander Socher on May 21, 1946 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Delano.

Gladys had a deep spiritual faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the rosary. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in rural Delano.

Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family. Gladys worked at Tonka Toys for many years. She enjoyed family gatherings, baking and decorating cakes, gardening, sewing, canning and raising chickens besides working on the farm.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Alex; son-in-law Allen Henry; parents; sister and brother- in-law Bernice and Ray Kittock and brother L. Marvin Gallus. She is survived by her daughters Darlene Henry, Joan (Jim) Meuleners and Jane (George) Vanderlinde; 8 grandchildren Steve (Aimee) Henry, Chris (Angie) Henry, Scott (DeeDee) Henry, John Meuleners, Andrew (Tiffany) Meuleners, Michael (Erin) Meuleners, Brian Vanderlinde and Katie Vanderlinde; 13 great grandchildren Emma and AJ Henry, Meagan, Jack, Madison and Colton Henry, Wyatt, Paige and Mason Henry, Nicholas and Owen Meuleners and Jade and Cecilia Meuleners; sisters-in-law Delores Gallus, Merilla Socher and Eileen Kolstad.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, Delano. Visitation was Thursday, from 1-3 PM with a Rosary Service at 12:30 PM at the church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
