Harvey L. Dalbec

Harvey LeRoy Dalbec, age 86, of Maple Plain, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 25, 1934, in Franklin Township (Delano) to Henry and Ida (Barfnecht) Dalbec. He was baptized on November 21, 1934 and confirmed on March 21, 1948 by Pastor Bruns at Mt Olive Church in Delano.

Harvey attended school in Delano. He helped on the family farm and joined the Army Reserves in his early 20’s receiving an honorable discharge in 1963. He eventually made his career as a Master Plumber working on many large commercial jobs as a foreman and supervisor. Harvey retired on April 1, 2000 and remained an active union member receiving a 60 year membership certificate from the Plumbers United Association.

On July 13, 1957 he was united in marriage to Pat Krienke at Mt Olive in Delano and recently had their 64th wedding anniversary. They raised 4 children, Cindy, Lori, Terry (Woody) and Dean, who gave them 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren whom he was so proud of and loved with all his heart.

Harvey enjoyed traveling with his wife Pat and children to Colorado, Florida, Montana, Wyoming and many other states. After raising 4 children, Harvey and Pat continued to travel enjoying Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Greece and many other destinations.

In his spare time, Harvey enjoyed hobby farming and auctions. He loved life and engaging in conversation with any person he came in contact with whether he knew them or not. Harvey had a great sense of humor, was a practical joker, hard worker, good provider, and a man of strong faith in God. Anyone who spent time with him knew he had a kind and giving heart, a wonderful smile and brought fun and laughter to life.

Harvey is survived by his loving, supportive and compassionate wife of 64 years, Pat Dalbec; children Cindy Doop, Lori Vought, Terry (Woody) Dalbec, Dean Dalbec; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister Joyce Anderson and brother Larry Dalbec. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry (Hank) and Ida Dalbec; brothers Gordon, Kenneth, LeRoy, Bobby and sister Judy Schliinz.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28th at Cross Lutheran Church, 6001 Main St. Rockford, MN followed by a luncheon. A gathering of family and friends was held on Wednesday at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Inurnment was in West Mount Olive Cemetery in Delano.
