Ilean Stellpflug
8/21/2012
Ilean Marie Stellpflug age 75 of Delano, formerly of LaCrosse, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 with her family at her side at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska, Minnesota. She was born May 31, 1937 to Clarence and Veldonna (Roschen) Johnson in Kellogg, Minnesota.
Ilean was united in marriage to Dan Stellpflug at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, Minnesota on August 27, 1960.
Ilean had many jobs throughout the years (farm wife, bus driver, waitress, housecleaner) but she cherished her roles of wife, mother and grandmother the most.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and even spent more time telling everyone else about her grandchildren.
She was an excellent cook and made the best lefse, sugar cookies and ‘bird’s nest’ cake you could imagine. Ilean always welcomed people into her home and had the ability to get to know anyone she was introduced to. She made sure no one ever went away from the table hungry. Ilean’s hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, watching game shows and doing find-a-words. Fall was a favorite time of year for Ilean – she knew it was football season and it was time to cheer on the Green Bay Packers to victory. If there was a card game going on you knew you would find Ilean there; even if no game was going on she would whip out her two decks of cards she always carried in her purse and get a game started.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel on October 31, 1992; siblings Norvan, Steven and Donna Jean; nephews Jimmie (godson) and Kyle.
Ilean is survived by her children Sandy (Jeff) Loomis, Ruth (Jon) Peterson, Bryan (Gerolene) Stellpflug; 6 grandchildren Morgan Stellpflug, Sara Loomis, Autumn and Adam Stellpflug, Madeline and Danielle Peterson; siblings Rosie (George) Lamey, Louise (Harold “Shorty”) Johnson, Marilyn (Chuck) Hansen, Phyllis (Don) Bittner; brother-in-law Everett Johnson; sister-in-law Jeannine (Dave) Flies. Ilean is also survived by many nephews and nieces as well as a very special friend of the family, Mona Loughan.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota.
Pall bearers were Ilean’s nephew’s: Jay Bittner, Neil Bittner, Jon Hansen, Bill Johnson, Bob Johnson, Mark Kaltenhauser, Mike Knoll, Mike Lamey, Paul Lamey, Tony Lamey, and Lonnie Stellpflug.
Private interment will occur at LaCrosse Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
August 27th was Ilean’s & Dan’s wedding anniversary – may they be united forever in eternal peace.
